01 / Why

Built on files you own, running on a server you control.

Phone

Claude Code in your pocket

Chat with your own Claude over Telegram, wherever you are. It reaches your vault, mail and WhatsApp, and asks before acting with an Allow / Deny button.

Ownership

Not locked to any AI

Everything you know lives in plain Markdown files that you own. If a better model comes along, point it at the same folder. Nothing needs exporting.

Speed

Fast, because it is all local

Your notes are plain files on your laptop, so your agent searches thousands of them in milliseconds. No database or app in the way, which makes it much faster and more capable.

Tasks

Task management built in

Tasks, priorities and schedules live in your vault. Talk through what is on your mind, and Claude turns it into tasks, helps you prioritise and fits them into your week.

Capture

One button to capture

The iPhone Action Button or a Mac hotkey drops an idea, note or task into your Inbox in two seconds. Send it to your Telegram bot instead, and Claude starts on it straight away.

Server

Works overnight, laptop off

The server keeps going when you sleep: backups, health checks and tidy-ups out of the box. Add your own jobs with Claude, such as sorting mail, a morning briefing or background work on tasks.

02 / Integrations

Connects to basically everything.

Out of the box it works with the services below. Anything else with an API or MCP connector, Claude can add for you.

Chat

Mail and time

Gmail, Google Calendar

School

Canvas courses, files and assignments

Health

Strava, WHOOP

Capture

Apple Shortcuts, Raycast

Notes

Ask your Claude to add it

03 / Your week

Not a notes app. An assistant that knows your goals, time and commitments.

3.1

It messages you. You tap once.

Claude can message you on Telegram when something needs you. Have it watch for what you care about, like sign-ups for a speaker you would love to hear. It messages you, you reply "sign me up", and before it acts it asks for your OK with one tap.

3.2

Your ideal week, planned for you.

Describe it once: wake and bed times, focus blocks, sport, classes, friends. Claude schedules your tasks, assignments and readings around it, reads your calendars, says plainly when the week is overbooked, and writes the blocks into your calendar once you approve.

3.3

Priorities that mean something.

A North Star note holds what matters this quarter. Rate Health, Work, Play and Love, set an objective for each, then rank three to five priorities. Every prioritisation pass reads it first, so urgent never quietly beats important.

04 / Memory

The longer you use it, the better it knows you.

Wiki

A second brain that maintains itself

After Karpathy's LLM wiki: Claude compiles your notes, readings and lessons into a small wiki, and answers from what you yourself concluded, with citations.

Profile

Memory you can read and edit

Dated notes of your preferences, routines, people and goals. Claude adds to them as you work. Works with any model.

Code

Fully yours to change

Plain files and readable code. Drop what you do not need; build what fits you.

05 / Setup

Four steps. Then Claude takes over.

It explains what the system does and where your data goes, and builds nothing until you say "I understand, continue". Progress is saved, so you can stop at any point.

  1. Install Claude CodeFrom claude.com. Needs a paid plan, Pro or Max.
  2. Unzip the kit into your home folderSo it sits at ~/vaultkit.
  3. Open the folder in Claude CodeThe desktop app's Code tab, or cd ~/vaultkit && claude.
  4. Type
    start the setup

07 / Privacy

Every account is yours.

Anthropic

What Claude reads, Anthropic processes

Your notes, and mail and WhatsApp if you turn them on. Avoiding this would need a local model, which the kit does not support.

Server

Everything else is locked down

Reachable only through your private Tailscale network. Keys in locked files. Backups encrypted before they leave.

András

Sees nothing

No access to your server, vault or accounts.

WhatsApp

Optional, off by default

It uses an unofficial connection, which can get a number banned.

Notice

Shared for educational purposes only, provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. András Habsburg takes no responsibility for the kit or anything that results from using it, including data loss, security incidents, costs, account suspensions or broken services. Setting it up is your decision: your server, your accounts, your data, your bills, and the terms of every service you connect.

08 / Updates

What changed, and when.

Every change to the live system is published here automatically, newest first, and the download is always the latest version. The history goes back to the first day, grouped into the phases it grew through.

Phase 5

Sharing it

Public, and updating itself. The current phase: new changes land here as they ship.

Carmen goes onlinev1.1

The kit gets a public home: an always-current download, the Start Here guide and this history. Every night the code is copied, stripped of anything personal, checked by two privacy scanners and only then published.

Phase 4

Running the day

From storing things to planning them: mornings, weeks, trips and every inbox.

Messages from all three reach Claude, read-only, with a push when someone new writes.

Meeting recordings

Recorded meetings and talks are pulled from Wispr Flow and filed next to the project they belong to, readable with the laptop off.

Travel

Door-to-door search across every nearby airport, trains and ferries, with bags included in every price, and fare watches that push you when a price drops.

Realistic weeks

How long recurring things really take, door to door, and the rules for placing work into a day, so a week plan says plainly when it does not fit.

Listen to your readings

Documents go to Speechify in one request, to listen to on a walk or a commute.

Tasks that stay well-formed

A checker runs after every edit, so every task keeps a clear next step, whoever wrote it.

When is the group free?

Ask when most of a group chat can do dinner, and Claude compares everyone's calendars in one request.

The morning check-in

Overnight the server reads mail, chats and the calendar and guesses where every task stands. After the morning journal you confirm with one click per task, and today goes into the calendar.

Sessions that remember

A rolling log of what every Claude session worked on, so the next one picks up where the last stopped.

Phase 3

Talking to it

You message the vault from your phone, and it starts messaging you back.

The kitv1.0

The whole setup packaged for friends: a Start Here guide, a walkthrough, a vault template and the code, set up by Claude one approved step at a time.

Telegram, and the vault speaks first

The vault becomes a Telegram bot: voice notes, files, one thread per topic, and Allow / Deny buttons before anything goes out. For the first time the server messages you, starting with the weekly brief.

One Monday brief

Everything that needs you from the maintenance side arrives as one note on Monday, instead of a stream of mail.

Readings on the Kindle

Course readings, cases and articles go to the Kindle in one request.

Build backlog

Ideas tagged during the week become one plan on Monday, with each item scoped by its own Claude session.

People

One note per person, with circles from inner to dormant, open loops as fields and nine views. Contacts, class lists and chats can be imported into it.

Routine reminders

Morning and evening routine pushes to the phone, with the text kept in the vault so changing a routine means editing a note.

Alerts you actually see

Urgent things go out as a push to the phone, and only what can wait goes to email.

WhatsApp bridge

Message your vault on WhatsApp and Claude answers, files and acts on it, with alerts if the connection drops.

It tests itself

The server runs its own test suite on a timer and catches jobs that run but were never committed, and tasks sitting where no view can see them.

Phase 2

The server takes over

Jobs run on the server with nobody watching, and the system starts checking itself.

A morning journal

A meditation and journal note is created every morning. It later becomes the start of the morning check-in.

Learnings, consolidated

Insights captured during the week are distilled into one running notebook, in the language they were written in.

Backups and a map

Encrypted nightly backups to Backblaze B2 with restore tests, and a map of every folder that is rewritten from disk each week.

Your own wiki

Claude distils your sources into topic articles, so a question about what you know or think is answered from your own material first.

Transcription

Lectures, podcasts and videos are transcribed offline in about 99 languages, straight into the notes.

Course archive

Every Canvas course, page, file and assignment archived into the vault with the text extracted, so Claude can say what a class covered and which readings are due.

Jobs with a watchdog

One shared runner for every scheduled job, a heartbeat that watches the others, and a weekly all-green digest. The code gets its own history from here on.

Profiles with a shelf life

Facts about you live in one Master Profile with sub-profiles, each fact dated so stale ones get questioned rather than trusted. A registry of property names stops two systems claiming the same one.

Phase 1

Leaving Notion

Everything moves into plain files on your own machine, and the first ways in: capture, mail, chat and fitness.

Working conditions

A note of when work can realistically happen, so plans respect energy, classes and commitments instead of assuming an empty week.

Nothing goes stale silently

A registry of everything that can quietly stop being true, from login tokens to documents, each with how it gets checked.

Fitness data

Strava and WHOOP sync to the server, so training and recovery sit next to everything else.

Both mailboxes

Personal and school Gmail, readable and draftable by Claude from one place.

Capture in two seconds

The iPhone Action Button and a Mac hotkey drop any thought into the Inbox.

A task cockpit and a daily loop

Tasks become notes with a status, priority and next step, reviewed in one Obsidian layout. Dump, commit, prioritise, schedule becomes the rhythm.

Chats as a source

WhatsApp becomes material Claude can read, so plans and promises made in messages stop getting lost.

An always-on server

A small Linux server keeps a synced copy of the vault and runs Claude Code around the clock, reachable only over a private network.

From Notion to plain files

Notes, tasks and plans move out of Notion into an Obsidian vault of Markdown files, so an AI agent can search thousands of them locally in milliseconds instead of one API call per page.

Set it up this weekend.
